Despite less than ideal weather last weekends event on the east course at Ebisu was a great success. About 45 cars made the journey from various locations around Japan into the mountains of Fukishima prefecture to try there skills on the undulating mountain circuit, the east course is very similar in length to TC 2000 at Tsukuba but with some pretty steep inclines so it is a totally different experience.
For me it was my first time at Ebisu and I have to say it won’t be my last… absolutely love this track as it combines many different challenges, mostly due to the elevation changes but also because of some very interesting corners, the standouts in my opinion are the downhill chicane and the slight right hand kink prior to the last corner that is also going downhill… brilliant !
Given it was my first time at this course I was reasonably pleased to finish the day with the 4th fastest lap time of 1’06.11 however after reviewing the video footage from the day there is a lot of room for improvement in that time so I am really looking forward to getting back there soon for another try.
